In the fall 2009, I opened the very first art and athletes fusion show in the city of Davis, California. This event, called “The Art of Athletes” was a place for athletes to display their artistic talents in a gallery setting. With the help of Mike Henderson, a former art professor at the University of California-Davis, who inspired me to create an exhibit such as “The Art of Athlete” and Michelle Roppeau, a former UC Davis Student-Athlete Advisor.
This event is going on its 15th annual showcase. The first show was held at the Log Cabin Gallery in downtown Davis – owner John Natsoulas. In my attempt to bring the public closer to the University, I arranged for the show to move onto the campus in the art department. The next showing will be in Manetti Shrem Museum, Davis California. I will continue my support for these young artistic athletes and congratulate their success.
Yo kid,
I ran into your mom and pops at El Sereno Park and they mentioned what you’re up to. I’m very proud of you man!!! I came home and the first thing I did was google you.Keep up the good work and I will help get your name out. I think with a little hard work you can make this a career, keep in touch and I look foward to hearing from you, take care and good luck!!!!
Hey coach! sorry for the late response. I am glad to hear you still make it around the park. I went back home just last week. I just completed my first year of Grad School 3 more semesters to go. It is pretty busy. There are lots of reads and discussions. I am enjoying every minute. I have also started working at the local Boys and Girls Club in Laguna and that is great. I hope all is well with you. I had my first real grad show at the Laguna Art Museum. There will be new paintings posted with the next few weeks. Hope to hear from you soon.
