Brandon has been an artist since childhood, always having paper to scribble on. Brandon grew up in a creative household, seeing his father develop designs using a silk-screen printmaking process using rubylith cutaway stencils.
Brandon studied at the University of California-Davis. During his 4 year undergrad education, he was part of the D1 AA football team, joined a teacher assistant fellowship, developed an Art of Athletes annual art showcase (which still thrives today, over ten years later) and traveled to Italy. Never stopping, Brandon lead a mural art event at a immersion elementary school. After receiving his BFA, Brandon concluded his time in Davis California as a printer lead at Ink Monkey graphics. Brandon moved forward to receive his MFA at Laguna College of Art & Design. Brandon accepted awards, grants and exhibited nationally, including a work shown at the NCAA headquarters, during his education.
Inspiration for compositions come mostly from Brandon’s sports background. Roaming through a familiar environment, Brandon elevates the visual experiences of a park, bleacher or stadium by drawing contrast between the night sky and the lit space. Brandon drives his two passion together and does so an a unique way.
Currently, Brandon is an instructor at Chabot College where he teaches drawing, 2D foundation, color theory and figurative drawing. On top of this, Brandon is a fitness coach at Orangetheory Fitness-Bast Bay division.
