In fall 2009, I opened the very first art and athletes fusion show in the city of Davis, California. The event was called “The Art of Athletes” allows athletes display their artist talents in a gallery setting. With the help of Mike Henderson, a professor at the university’s Art Studio department, who inspired me to create an exhibit such as “The Art of Athlete” and Michelle Roppeau, a UC Davis Student-Athlete Advisor.

This event recently had its third annual opening in winter 2012. The first show was held at the Log Cabin Gallery in downtown Davis-owner John Natsoulas. In my attempt to bring the public closer to the University, I arranged for the show to be transferred over to the Basement Gallery located at the University’s Art Building. This is where the event will remain for years to come.

    • Hey coach! sorry for the late response. I am glad to hear you still make it around the park. I went back home just last week. I just completed my first year of Grad School 3 more semesters to go. It is pretty busy. There are lots of reads and discussions. I am enjoying every minute. I have also started working at the local Boys and Girls Club in Laguna and that is great. I hope all is well with you. I had my first real grad show at the Laguna Art Museum. There will be new paintings posted with the next few weeks. Hope to hear from you soon.
